He was also the producer behind the viral children's music phenomenon "El Pollito Pio" and "La Vaca Lola," which amassed billions of views on YouTube.
In live production, Fede has served as show producer and tour manager for world-class acts, including Gustavo Santaolalla, Gaby Moreno, Open Folk, Open Folk Festival, Lolita Campos & Manu Pozzi, Ainda, and Fiesta del Futuro. He was the tour manager for Santaolalla’s "Desandando el Camino" tour across Latin America and has led production for major branded events with Coca-Cola, BBVA, Natura, and NBC Studio Universal.
Beyond production, Fede’s industry expertise includes his time as Producer and Catalog Manager for MusicMind Group, where he oversaw music for NBC-Universal, Telemundo, and Netflix, as well as his role on the A&R team at Universal Music Argentina, where he worked in artist development, contract supervision, and media content creation.
As a musician, Fede is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, violin, mandolin, banjo, piano, harmonica, and vocals) and has performed with artists like Merrick Winter, Los Tabaleros, Estela Stier, and Gal Musette. He released a solo record titled The Last Word and is now releasing new music under the moniker Midnight Gaucho, a project that blends his Argentinian roots with cinematic, folk-inspired storytelling.
In 2014, Fede co-founded Open Folk, a global music movement and label that has hosted events in multiple cities worldwide, fostering a thriving network of independent artists. Open Folk has provided a stage for thousands of singer-songwriters, organized festivals sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Argentina, released compilation albums, and built a community-driven platform that connects musicians across different countries. Through Open Folk, Fede has helped artists showcase their work, collaborate, and find new audiences beyond their local scenes.
Fede is also the creator of Chaos Workshop: Survival of the Independent Artist, a hands-on program designed to equip musicians with the tools, knowledge, and strategies to navigate the music industry independently. His real-world experience, industry insight, and no-nonsense approach make him an invaluable resource for artists looking to build sustainable and thriving careers.
Whether in the studio, on stage, or in the scene, Fede Petro is dedicated to helping artists create, perform, and succeed on their own terms.
